Yingli partners with state-owned coal company to develop PV projects in northern China

Yingli Energy (China) Co. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Chinese solar manufacturer Yingli Green Energy Holding Co. Ltd., has agreed to establish a joint venture with Shuozhou Coal Power Co. Ltd. to develop and build solar power plants in Shuozhou City, Shanxi Province, China. The companies do not say how much PV capacity they plant to install, nor do they provide any details on the timing or the expected investment amount. Yingli notes that the deal will accelerate project development.
Shuozhou Coal Power Co. Ltd. is a wholly owned subsidiary of China’s third-largest state-owned coal mining enterprise, Datong Coal Mine Group Co. Ltd. Yingli China and Datong Coal Mine Group previously cooperated to build a 20 MW PV power plant in Shanxi Province. Yingli acted as module supplier and EPC on that 20 MW project.
