Yingli and China National Nuclear Corp. to jointly develop 500 MW of distributed generation PV projects

Yingli Energy (China) Co. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Chinese solar manufacturer Yingli Green Energy Holding Co. Ltd., has agreed to establish a joint venture with China Rich Energy Corp. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of China National Nuclear Corp. (CNNC), to develop and construct distributed generation solar projects across China. The joint venture aims to develop 500 MW of distributed generation PV projects over an unspecified period of time, 200 MW of which will be installed on sites provided by CNNC or its subsidiaries.
Hongchao Xu, chairman of the joint venture and deputy general manager of China Rich Energy, emphasizes that CNNC remains committed to nuclear power development. However, the company does intend to increase its activities in the renewable energy sector.
