Weak German PV market impacts Viessmann's renewable energy division

German heating, cooling and climate control technology provider Viessmann Deutschland GmbH reports that its renewable energy business represented 25% of the company’s revenue in 2013, down from 28% in 2012. The decline was attributed primarily to its PV system sales business, which was negatively impacted by adverse market conditions continuing from the previous year.
Viessmann also announced that a biogas system at the company’s headquarters will be upgraded this year to include an electrolyzer capable of producing hydrogen from surplus wind and solar power.
