The Dresden-based VSB Group has been awarded the contract for a solar park with a capacity of 303 megawatts (MW) as part of this year’s auction by the Polish energy regulator URE. According to VSB, this is the company’s largest solar project to date. The fully approved project is being built in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship on an area of over 260 hectares north-east of Wrocław. The state remuneration is secured via a contract-for-difference (CfD) agreement, which guarantees long-term price stability. Construction is scheduled to start in October 2025, with grid connection expected in the second quarter of 2027. The solar park is currently one of the largest photovoltaic projects in Poland.

»With this project, we are setting a new benchmark for solar energy in Poland,« says Hubert Kowalski, Managing Director of VSB Poland. »In just a few years, it could evolve into one of Europe’s largest hybrid energy projects, combining photovoltaics, battery storage, and wind power. Its success will depend on economic conditions and future regulatory frameworks. At VSB, we maintain an ongoing dialogue with local communities to jointly develop stable, utility-scale renewable energy solutions. Projects like this would stand no chance without the consent and support of local stakeholders,« Kowalski adds.

The project is VSB’s second major project in Poland. The company previously supported the start of construction for the country’s largest onshore wind farm, the Miejska Górka wind farm (190.8 MW).
