US Solar Fund acquires 128 MW PV project in Utah

UK based US Solar Fund plc has closed the acquisition and financing of the cash equity interests in the 128 MW »Milford« solar project in Utah. Construction is expected to begin immediately with full commercial operations expected before the end of 2020. Location is Beaver County, approximately six miles north of Milford. Utility Pacific Corp, part of Berkshire Hathaway Energy, will purchase the annually forecasted solar power generation of 277 GWh at a fixed price for 25 years.
USF acquires the facility from developer Longroad Energy Partners, LLC. The company has a track record of developing and financing more than 5 GW of utility-scale renewable energy projects since 2004, including over 1 GW in the state of Utah. The project will be constructed by McCarthy Building Companies and will use First Solar Inc.'s Series 6 solar panels. First Solar Energy Services is expected to provide operations and maintenance services under a separate long-term contract.
