U.S. Department of Energy honors solar energy campaigns

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has awarded five marketing campaigns with the »Inclusive Solar Outreach Award«. The competition aims to increase acceptance of solar energy in underrepresented communities and attract people to careers in the solar industry. For example, »Astral Power, Powered by Neighborhood Sun« was honored for its initiative to encourage low- and moderate-income households in rural New York to use solar energy. Astral Power's campaign, as well as those of the other four winners - Energy Outreach Colorado, Lightsource bp in Ellis County (Texas), Solar Landscape in New Jersey, and Solar United Neighbors (SUN) in Duluth, Minnesota) can be read on DOE's website in the »Best Practices Guide for Inclusive Solar Energy Communications«. The Inclusive Solar Outreach Award supports the Biden-Harris Administration's national goal of transitioning to 100 percent clean electricity by 2035.
