The US Customs and Border Protection agency has seized almost 300 pounds of methamphetamine hidden in solar panels during an inspection at Los Angeles International Airport. This was announced by the authority on social media on Monday. Photos show how the officers cut open the back of the modules. According to the pictures, they are probably solar thermal collectors.

The drugs were on their way to New Zealand, according to the statement. The raid was carried out on the basis of intelligence. In a post on Facebook, the officers said that they do this every day and that the »criminal masterminds« didn’t stand a chance. »I know now why the solar installers keeps going to my roof,« one comment read. »I was wondering what was all that hype about working with solar panels,« another.
