Umweltbank finances 171-megawatt solar park from Luxcara

German Umweltbank AG is financing the Tramm-Göthen in the federal state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, which is currently under construction. According to the Investor, Hamburg-based Luxcara GmbH, this is the country’s largest independent PV project. Luxcara acquired the 171-megawatt project last November from Belectric GmbH, now part of the tech CEZ Group. The financing from Umweltbank amounts to a »mid-double-digit million amount.« The equity is being provided by renewable energy funds advised by Luxcara. The plant is expected to begin commercial operation in the first quarter of this year. The solar power will be sold under a ten-year power purchase agreement (PPA).
