UK added 15 MW of new PV systems in December and 912 MW in 2017

The UK added 15 MW of new PV systems in December 2017, a slight increase from 12 MW added in November 2017 and a decline from 56 MW installed in December 2016, according to the latest figures of the UK Department of Business, Energy and Industrial strategy (BEIS). Provisionally, as of the end of December 2017 overall UK solar PV capacity stood at 12,748 MW across 937,421 installations.
This is an increase of 7.7 percent (912 MW) compared to December 2016. To date, 46 percent (5,878 MW) of total installed solar PV capacity comes from large scale installations greater than 5 MW, with 20 percent (2,531 MW) coming from small scale 0 to 4 kW installations. At the end of Q3 2017, 59 percent of capacity (7,421 MW) came from ground-mounted or standalone solar installations.
