TÜV Rheinland strengthens photovoltaics expertise and establishes solar subsidiary

TÜV Rheinland Holding AG has founded TÜV Rheinland Solar GmbH. The new company is part of the globally active Products Business Stream in the Solar & Commercial Products Business Unit. The new subsidiary is intended to facilitate »in particular the networking of colleagues operating worldwide in the solar sector,« explains Thomas Haupt, Regional Business Unit Manager for Germany and Eastern and Western Europe at TÜV Rheinland and authorized signatory for the newly founded company. Currently, TÜV Rheinland's network includes test laboratories for photovoltaic modules for power generation, for solar collectors for heat generation, for storage systems, inverters and components. The solar systems testing service provider operates laboratories in Bangalore (India), Cologne (Germany), Milan (Italy), Shanghai (China), Taichung (Taiwan) and Pleasanton (USA), among others. The competence network for solar energy also includes 15 expert centers in Africa, America, Asia and Europe.
