Trina Solar completes two PV plants totaling 23.8 MW in the UK

Chinese solar manufacturer Trina Solar Limited has completed two PV plants with a combined capacity of 23.77 MW in Cornwall and Dorset, UK. Both projects, which rely on Trina PC05A 255Wp modules, were completed by the end of March – At the start of April, the UK reduced incentives for utility-scale PV projects installed under its Renewables Obligation (RO) program. The company has not disclosed how much was invested in the projects.
According to the latest figures from the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC), UK had 412 MW of cumulative PV capacity installed under the country’s RO scheme as of Feb. 28, 2014. The RO program, which is exclusively designed for large-scale PV projects, will be shut down in 2017, when it will be replaced by the Contract for Difference (CfD) mechanism.
