Trina Solar to build 1 GW in Xinjiang, China over the next 4 years

Chinese solar manufacturer Trina Solar Ltd. plans to install 1 GW of ground-mounted solar power projects in western China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region over a 4-year period starting in early 2014. Trina has signed a framework agreement with the local government authority of Turpan Prefecture to develop the projects in the prefecture. The first 300 MW of projects are scheduled to be connected to the grid by the end of 2014, subject to approval from the local government and State Grid.
Trina will also construct a module production facility in the prefecture to supply modules for the 1 GW project.
