Tigo improves signal quality for module-level power electronics in large PV systems

U.S.-based module level power electronics (MLPE) supplier Tigo Energy Inc. has developed »Pure Signal« technology to reduce the interference liability of power line communications (PLC), the use of electrical wires for data transmission, in PV systems. Pure Signal is used in the new generation of Tigo’s RSS transmitters (RSS: Rapid shutdown system).
Particularly in larger PV systems, signal quality is often impaired by interference from overlapping signals (»crosstalk«). With Pure Signal, Tigo says »cable runs from different circuits or adjacent inverters will no longer risk PLC signal disruption.« The RSS transmitters are »certified with hundreds of inverter models from leading manufacturers« and are designed for Tigo’s TS4-A-F and TS4-A-2F rapid shutdown systems.
