Sunnova wants to establish »solar mikro-utility« in California

U.S. installation and energy services company Sunnova Energy International Inc. wants to develop a »micro-energy utility« in California based on solar power systems and battery storage, and has filed an application with the state’s energy market regulator California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC).
According to a news release, Sunnova has formed a subsidiary, Sunnova Community Microgrids California, LLC (SCMC), which aims to create »largely self-sustaining micro-utilities,« particularly in new housing developments, by installing photovoltaic and storage systems and linking them together; the term »Sunnova Adaptive Communities« will be established for this purpose.
