Dresden-based Sunmaxx PVT GmbH intends to use perovskite silicon tandem cells from the manufacturer Oxford PV in its photovoltaic-thermal (PVT) hybrid modules, which are produced in Ottendorf-Okrilla near Dresden. According to Sunmaxx PVT, the new PVT module achieves a record efficiency of 26.6 percent electrical and 53.4 percent thermal output, which corresponds to an overall efficiency of 80 percent on an area of 1.63 square meters. The market launch is planned for the next 12 to 18 months.
The British cell manufacturer Oxford PV produces its tandem cells in Brandenburg an der Havel. However, series production of the innovative cells has been repeatedly delayed, meaning that they are not yet available on the market.
