Sunfarming opens training center in Turkey

Sunfarming GmbH from Erkner near Berlin, Germany, which specializes in PV project development and EPC, opened a »SUNfarming Food & Energy Training Center« in Cevdetiye, Turkey (Osmaniye Province) last week.
The German-Turkish training project, which was set up as a »Private Partnership Project« with the help of German KfW Bankengruppe and the German Investment and Development Corporation (Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft, DEG), serves to train Syrian refugees and Turkish residents with the help of local university teachers and training partners. The aim is to create around 250 training places for »entrepreneurs in the organic food sector and as a photovoltaic technician for renewable energies«. The centre, located near the Turkish-Syrian border, will serve as a model for further similar investments in Turkey and Syria.
Sunfarming has already implemented the Food & Energy Training Center concept, which was recently awarded one of the European Solar Prizes 2019, in Togo, Burkina Faso, Senegal and Ghana with an installed capacity of around 100 MW. The foundation stone for the first of four centres planned for Madagascar was laid in October.
