Sono Motors starts construction of »Sion« series-validation vehicles

German carmaker Sono Motors GmbH is starting to build a fleet of vehicles to test the »Sion« model. These cars consist of series components and match the expected final design, according to a statement. The 458 integrated solar cells extend the range of the Solar Electric Vehicle (SEV) by an average of 112 to 245 kilometers per week, according to the company.
The test cars are completing real-world tests under extreme conditions in Europe and the United States. This includes testing in different climate zones, optimizing the solar technology, safeguarding plus tuning the driving dynamics on test tracks and in road traffic, as well as crash tests. The public premiere of the Sion in its final design is planned for summer 2022 and series production for 2023.
