The storage manufacturer Sonnen GmbH from Wildpoldsried is presenting a new version of its “Sonnenbatterie 10”. According to Sonnen, the “hybrid” model can optimize self-consumption of solar power and participate in the energy market at the same time. Among other things, it can avoid the new 60 percent regulation for PV systems and minimize the feed-in of solar power at negative prices through flexible direct marketing. The new Sonnenbatterie can also respond to the upcoming flexible grid fees in accordance with Section 14a of the Energy Industry Act.
If the power grid fails, the Sonnenbatterie 10 hybrid automatically continues to supply the household with electricity on all three phases and simultaneously maintains the operation of the photovoltaic system. According to Sonnen, this is possible with household connections of up to 63 A. The “Easy Backup” included in the scope of delivery can be installed in an existing meter cabinet; a separate switch box is not required.
According to Sonnen, the new battery is a highly efficient DC system that is particularly suitable for new installations. It can be expanded in 5.5 kWh increments from 5.5 kWh to 27.5 kWh and achieves an AC output of up to 10 kW. With up to four MPP trackers, it is also suitable for more complex roof constructions. The maximum recommended size of the connected PV system is 15 kW, but it can also be coupled with several PV inverters. The Sonnenbatterie 10 hybrid is also compatible with the optimizers from Tigo Energy, according to Sonnen.
