Solliance and ECN improved tandem solar cells

Cross-border Dutch-Flemish-German thin-film photovoltaics research initiative Solliance and the Energy research Centre of the Netherlands (ECN) take a »major step in improving tandem solar cells.« According to the companies, Solliance develops a perovskite solar cell with 93 percent average near infrared transparency. ECN shows 26.3 percent tandem cell efficiency when combining the perovskite solar cell with its 6 inch industrially processed c-Si cell, »an increase of 3.6 percentage points over the efficiency of the directly illuminated silicon cell laminate.«
