Solarwatt cooperates with Stiebel Eltron on heat pumps and with Alfen on wallboxes

German module manufacturer and solar technology provider Solarwatt GmbH has established further technical cooperations for its »SOLARWATT Manager flex«, which controls household energy systems in combination with PV. Thus, the electric car charging stations of Dutch energy group Alfen can now be integrated into the system. According to Solarwatt, this makes it »the only manufacturer in Germany« that can integrate wallboxes from Alfen into its home energy management system (HEMS). Solarwatt also offers wallboxes from the manufacturers Webasto and Keba.
The Alfen charging stations for outputs of 11 to 22 kilowatts (kW) are designed for the private sector, but in the appropriate version with MID certification (Measuring Instruments Directive) also for public charging points. Currently still in preparation for the Solarwatt-Alfen combination is a phase switching to use PV power output already from 1.4 kW and thus make even small solar surpluses available for the electric car. The phase switch is to be implemented free of charge via software update.
Solarwatt also announced a cooperation with the home and heating technology manufacturer Stiebel Eltron. This not only concerns the compatibility of the »Manager flex« system with heat pumps from Stiebel Eltron, but also, for example, the training of Solarwatt installation partners. These are to be able to acquire a »heat pump license« from Stiebel Eltron in order to »dissolve as far as possible the barrier that currently still exists between heating installers and solar installers,« according to a statement.
