Solarnative factory opened

Solarnative GmbH has completed the commissioning of its series production for micro-inverters in Hofheim am Taunus, Germany, announced in February, according to plan. Friday (May 5) marked the grand opening of the factory, which is scheduled to produce 50,000 »PowerStick« inverters per month in the fourth quarter of this year. Later, 100,000 units per month are to leave the small factory with its 565 square meters of hall space plus office and common rooms. This would correspond to around three million units and thus to one gigawatt of AC power per year.
The PowerStick inverters of type INV-350 with 350 watts nominal power are characterized by a very high power density of 1.8 kilowatts per liter. Solarnative has installed an SMT (surface mounted technology) production line as well as other production and warehouse equipment in the building, which was already occupied last September. Currently, around 40 people work for the start-up, and this figure is expected to rise to 60 by the end of the year.
