Socomec launches mobile storage system on the market

During the »Dakar Rally«, the power storage system supplied the camps with self-sufficient solar power. The teams on site dismantled the mobile storage system every day and set it up again at the next station.

French company Socomec SA has launched a mobile power storage system on the German market. The »SUNSYS Mobile« container solution allows event organizers to supplement or completely replace diesel generators, according to a statement. The system has an output of 200 kW / 330 kWh hours and can be installed in less than 30 minutes. It has proven its robustness in the Dakar desert rally, says the company.
According to marketing manager Guy Schaaf, the system, coupled with a diesel generator, could save up to 60 percent of fuel. »A completely CO2-free power supply can be realized in combination with a solar power system.« He said an intelligent management system automatically regulates charging and discharging based on consumption, solar power produced and grid supply. In the event of a grid failure, the power storage system provides an uninterrupted emergency power supply thanks to its black start capability. Remote venues without a grid connection can be self-sufficiently supplied by the container solution in combination with a solar power system. It can withstand wind, sandstorms and rain and is suitable for temperatures from minus 20 to plus 50 degrees Celsius. It can be transported by truck.
