»The Smarter E Europe«: Gridparity presents photovoltaic concept for large parking lots

Gridparity AG from Karlsfeld, Germany, is looking to expand its range of solar carports to include a solution for large areas – not just parking lots, but also similar uses. In addition to kits for private parking lots or smaller company parking lots, Gridparity now offers a system for larger and very large areas with several 1,000 parking spaces.
The design was developed together with an unnamed industrial partner, and Gridparity manufactures the bifacial double-glass modules in its own factory in Slovakia. The profiles are made of galvanized steel sheet. The system has a height of 3.5 meters on the outside and 4.5 meters on the inside (at the ridge), with a span of 17 to 20 meters. Gridparity quotes installation costs of »well below € 1,000 per kilowatt depending on project sizes« (Booth No. A1.510, A1.610).
