Singulus increases sales and profits

In the first quarter of 2019, German Singulus Technologies AG's revenue of €20.8 million ($23.3 million) was higher than the previous year's figure of €17.3 million ($19.4 million). Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) stood at €1.1 million (Q1 previous year: €-1.6 million). EBITDA was at €2.0 million, also significantly higher than the previous year's €-1.2 millions. The result for the period rose from minus €2.1 million ($2.3 million) to plus €0.2 million ($0.22 million)compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
The order backlog of €57.0 million (€125.5 million) was below the volume of the previous year. According to the company, the first quarter of 2018 was »essentially influenced by the large orders for equipment for the production of CIGS solar modules.« Singulus' order intake in the first quarter of 2019 was €11.8 million, below the previous year's level.
For the current fiscal year, Singulus Technologies expects a further increase in revenues and key earnings figures compared to 2018. Revenues are expected to be within a range of €135 million to €155 million. The most important revenue and earnings impulses are expected to come from the Solar segment and here from the large project orders for investments in production lines for CIGS solar modules.
Singulus Technologies AG develops and builds machines and systems for production processes in the areas of solar, semiconductor technology, medical technology, consumer goods and optical discs.
