Serial module with G12 HJT cells: REC introduces another module in its »Alpha« series

After the Norwegian REC Group already announced a new solar module of its »Alpha« series in the run-up to Intersolar Europe (our news of April 25) and received one of this year's Intersolar Awards for this »REC Alpha Pure«, the company has presented another Alpha module. The »REC Alpha Pure-R« consists, like the Alpha Pure, of heterojunction solar cells, but has an even higher output of up to 430 W (Alpha Pure: up to 410 W).
Cells in G12 format are used. The area of the module, for which no data sheet has yet been published, is given by REC as »less than two square meters«. This makes the Alpha Pure-R one of the first G12 modules worldwide that is designed for installation in private rooftop systems.
The Alpha Plus-R is scheduled to go into production at REC’s Singapore plant in August. This will double the annual production capacity for the Alpha series from 0.6 to 1.2 gigawatts.
