German Anumar Solar GmbH and representatives of the Berg im Gau municipality officially commissioned the »Schornhof« solar park with a capacity of 120 MW. Location is near Ingolstadt, Bavaria. Installation had begun in the spring of 2020. It is reportedly the »largest solar park in southern Germany.«
The yield is forecast at 110 GWh. A large part of the electricity sales (90 MW) is in cooperation with the Norwegian utility Statkraft under two long-term electricity supply contracts. One of the customers is Mercedes-Benz AG, according to a statement published in March.
The plant has its own transformer station, which supplies the generated electricity directly to the high-voltage grid. The investment amount to about €60 million ($70 million), according to the company. Anumar is also the plant operator and is creating long-term local jobs in green maintenance and electrical services for this purpose.
The local council in Berg im Gau has already voted in favor of expanding the solar park. Another 60 MW are to be installed in 2022.
