Schletter production in Turkey with 1 GW capacity to start this month

German Mounting system manufacturer Schletter Solar GmbH (Schletter Group) has announced the imminent start of production at its new site in Turkey. Poduction is scheduled to begin this month in Dilovasi, near Istanbul.
The company, which says it sold mounting systems for around 6.5 gigawatts (GW) of total power last year, has so far had production sites in Asia and »a flexible network of certified suppliers.« A maximum capacity of around one GW per year is now to be added in Dilovasi, initially to produce systems primarily for ground-mounted solar power plants in Europe and the Middle East, but also Africa and America. Production of systems for rooftop installations is scheduled to start later this year. Schletter has also opened a new storage with 12,000 square meters of space in northern Germany to better supply the European market.
