RWE sees wind and solar potential of 5 GW in Germany by 2030

The energy group RWE wants to accelerate the expansion of renewable energy plants in Germany. »In onshore wind and PV alone, we see potential for RWE to add around 5 gigawatts by 2030«, says Katja Wünschel, CEO Onshore Wind and Solar Europe & Australia at the Group’s subsidiary RWE Renewables: »This decade, we will invest up to 15 billion euros gross in climate protection in this country.« RWE sees »particular growth potential« in Germany because it is »the only industrialized country in which both nuclear energy and coal can be replaced.«
