RWE considers sale of Belectric

According to news agency Reuters, German energy group RWE is considering to sell its subsidiary Belectric Solar & Battery GmbH. The Kolitzheim-based company is primarily active in the development, planning, construction and operational management of large-scale solar power plants with and without connected storage systems. It was acquired by RWE subsidiary Innogy in 2016. Since 2020, it has been part of RWE Renewables. Belectric has built more than 460 ground-mounted solar power plants worldwide with a total capacity of 3.85 GW.
Reuters cites »two people familiar with the matter« for its report. Details such as a date or financial volume of the planned transaction were not given. A statement from RWE or Belectric requested by PHOTON is not yet available.
