RWE acquires British project developer JBM Solar with 6.1 GW pipeline

German energy group RWE is acquiring JBM Solar, a British project developer of solar plants and battery storage systems. According to RWE, the company’s project pipeline amounts to 6.1 gigawatts (GW), including 3.8 GW of solar and 2.1 GW of storage (both AC).
RWE expects the first projects from this pipeline to be operational in 2024 and plans to average 450 megawatts each in subsequent years. By its own account, the company, which is currently the UK's largest electricity producer, is now also one of the three largest solar project developers.
