Researchers boost efficiency of perovskite cells

A team of scientists has increased the performance of perovskite solar cells. Russian and Italian researchers modified the cells with thin titanium carbides with high electrical conductivity (MXene). These cells showed increased performance: Efficiency increased to more than 19 percent compared to 17 percent for reference cells. The results were obtained by scientists from Moscow's National University of Science and Technology (NUST MISIS) together with physicists from the University of Tor Vergata (Rome) and published in the journal Nano Energy.
