Real Goods Solar increases revenue, improves net loss

US solar installer Real Goods Solar Inc. was able to increase revenues and reduce losses in 2013. Total revenues increased 9% from $92.9 million in 2012 to $101.3 million last year. Net loss considerably improved from 47.2 million in 2012 to 11.3 million in 2013. Furthermore, the company was able to increase its installed capacity to 29.7 MW last year. In the prior year, the company installed PV systems with a combined capacity of 26.6 MW.
In the fourth quarter of 2013, Real Goods Solar increase its revenue 12% year-on-year to $29.9 million. The company said that the improvement »reflects an increase in total solar systems constructed to 8.8 megawatts in the fourth quarter of 2013 compared to 7.6 megawatts in the fourth quarter of 2012.« Net loss for the period was $2.5 million. In the last quarter of the prior year net loss stood at $3.8 million.
The company has not provided an outlook for the first quarter and full fiscal year 2014.
