Q Cells acquired 429 MW solar projects in Spain

Hanwha Q Cells GmbH acquired a 429 MW solar project portfolio in Spain from RIC Energy, located in Aragon and Castilla y León in the northwest of the country. RIC Energy will develop the projects, start of construction is expected in Q4 2021. Details were not disclosed.
At the end of 2019, Q Cells had acquired solar projects from RIC Energy with a capacity of 940 MW - according to the company »one of the largest renewable energy businesses on the Iberian Peninsula at that time«. These projects are expected to be ready for construction in early 2022.
The cumulative project development pipeline of Q Cells in Spain now exceeds 1.5 GW. In Portugal, the company recently secured projects totaling 315 megawatts at a solar auction.
