PV covered 2.0% of Spain's electricity demand in February

In February, Spain’s 4.67 GW of installed PV capacity covered 2.0% of the country’s electricity demand, up from 1.8% in January, according to Spanish grid operator Red Electrica de Espana. Meanwhile, solar thermal covered 0.5% of Spain’s electricity demand in February, up from 0.4% in January. When lumped together, renewables jointly accounted for 59% of Spain’s electricity mix in February, a new record for the country. Red Electrica also revealed that Spain’s total electricity demand decreased by 1.4% year on year in February.
