PPVX gains easily

Last Friday, the PHOTON Photovoltaic Stock Index PPVX stood at 1,175 points, 1.1 percent above its level a week before. Its reference value NYSE Arca Oil lost 4.1 percent. Compared to the beginning of the year, the PPVX has gained 30.8 percent and is thus 27.0 percentage points ahead of the oil share index, which only recorded 3.8 percent growth. Since the beginning of 2003, the PPVX (plus 317.8 percent) has been 170.6 percentage points ahead of the Oil Stock Index (plus 147.2 percent).
Among the 30 PPVX shares, Jinko Solar achieved last week’s highest price gain with 10.7 percent, followed by SMA (10.2 percent) and Canadian Solar (8.3 percent). The highest price losses were posted by REC Silicon (12.3 percent), Panda Green Energy (8.8 percent) and Meyer Burger (4.6 percent).
The top 3 PPVX stocks since the beginning of the year are Enphase (plus 220.7 percent), Jinko Solar (103.3 percent) and Vivint Solar (71.1 percent). The highest price losses since January have been suffered by Shunfeng International (42.3 percent), Panda Green Energy (35.4 percent) and REC Silicon (15.3 percent). The cumulative market value of all PPVX companies currently amounts to €31.5 billion ($35.1 billion).
