PPVX gains 2.2 percent

Last week, the PHOTON Photovoltaic Stock Index PPVX rose by 2.2 percent to 1,138 points, its reference value NYSE Arca Oil fell by 0.7 percent. The highest price gains of the week were achieved by West Holdings (11.1 percent), Xinyi Solar (8.4 percent) and Jinko Solar (7.5 percent), while the highest losses were suffered by Enphase (4.8 percent), Azur Power (3.9 percent) and Shunfeng International (3.6 percent).
With 26.7 percent since the beginning of this year, the PPVX has outperformed Arca Oil (plus 17.6 percent) by 9.1 percentage points. The top three stocks since January are Enphase Energy (plus 99.8 percent), Jinko Solar (92.4 percent) and Daqo New Energy (59.4 percent). Only three PPVX stocks are currently negative compared to the beginning of the year: Shunfeng International (48.1 percent), Panda Green Energy (29.2 percent) and SPCG (0.6 percent).
The cumulative market value of all PPVX companies is currently around €30.1 billion ($33.9 billion). Since the beginning of 2003, the solar shares (plus 304.6 percent) have been 124.6 percentage points ahead of NYSE Arca Oil (plus 180.0 percent).
