PPVX down 3.9 percent

After a slight upswing in the week before last, the PHOTON Photovoltaic Stock Index PPVX traded down again on Friday (December 17): 3,650 points meant a 3.9 percent loss compared to the previous week. Its benchmark NYSE Arca Oil lost even more, down 4.2 percent. At minus 10.3 percent year-to-date, the PPVX lags the oil stock index (up 55.5 percent) by 65.8 percentage points in constant currency.
The most significant price gains of the week were posted by Flat Glass Group (4.0 percent), Neoen (3.3 percent) and Grenergy (2.9 percent), while the highest price losses were suffered by Sunrun (19.1 percent), Sunnova (15.4 percent) and Enphase (12.1 percent). The highest year-to-date gain is noted for GCL-Poly (114.6 percent), followed after a clear gap by Sino-American Silicon (26.8 percent) and West Holdings (24.6 percent). The highest price losses from January levels are posted by Array Technologies (61.6 percent), Scatec (56.9 percent) and Azure Power (55.3 percent).
The cumulative market value of all PPVX companies is currently around €127.8 billion ($144,4 billion). In a long-term comparison since the beginning of 2003, the PPVX (up 1,198 percent) has a lead of 1,062 percentage points over the NYSE Arca Oil (up 136 percent).
