PPVX down 2.6 percent

The PHOTON Photovoltaic Stock Index PPVX lost 2.6 percent last week, trading at 3,574 points on Friday. Its benchmark NYSE Arca Oil gained 4.8 percent. Down 12.2 percent year-to-date, the PPVX trails the oil stock index (up 58.8 percent) by 70.9 percentage points.
Sino American Silicon (up 3.1 percent), Sunnova (2.3 percent) and First Solar (2.2 percent) posted the most significant price gains last week. Flat Glass Group (down 8.4 percent), Xinyi Solar (8.3 percent) and Xinte Energy (8.0 percent) suffered the highest price losses. In terms of share price performance since the beginning of the year, Meyer Burger now leads again with plus 13.9 percent, followed by Flat Glass Group (12.5 percent) and West Holdings (4.1 percent). Scatec (down 57.6 percent), Array Technologies (57.4 percent) and Soltec (51.1 percent) show the highest losses compared to January. GCL-Poly remains suspended from trading.
The cumulative market value of all PPVX companies is currently around €119.3 billion ($137.9 billion). In a long-term comparison since the beginning of 2003, the PPVX (up 1,170.4 percent) has a lead of 1,029.6 percentage points over the NYSE Arca Oil (up 140.8 percent).
