PPVX down 2.4 percent

The PHOTON Photovoltaic Stock Index PPVX lost 2.4 percent last week and was listed at 1,162 points on Friday. Its comparative value NYSE Arca Oil fell by 1.8 percent.
The highest price gains of the week were achieved by SolarEdge (19.0 percent), Vivint Solar (10.1 percent) and SunPower (8.8 percent). By contrast, two thirds of the 30 companies listed in the index suffered price losses, most notably REC Silicon (15.3 percent), Jinko Solar (11.3 percent) and Canadian Solar (10.9 percent).
Compared to the beginning of the year, only three PPVX shares are currently in the red, but two of them are very clear: Shunfeng International (46.2 percent) and Panda Green Energy (33.3 percent). SPCG's share price fell only slightly by 0.6 percent. The top 3 stocks since the beginning of the year are Enphase with a plus of 196.4 percent, Jinko Solar (88.2 percent) and Vivint Solar (68.5 percent).
The PPVX as a whole has, with plus 29.3 percent since the beginning of the year, a 17.0 percentage points lead of the Arca Oil (plus 12.3 percent). In a long-term comparison since the beginning of 2003, the solar stocks (plus 313.0 percent) are 145.7 percentage points ahead of the oil stocks (plus 167.3 percent). The cumulative market value of all PPVX companies is currently around €31.2 billion ($35.0 billion).
