PPVX almost unchanged

The PHOTON Photovoltaic Stock Index PPVX rose slightly last week by 0.4 percent to 966 points. Its reference value NYSE Arca Oil fell by 1.0 percent. Canadian Solar and Scatec (both 12.1 percent) as well as SunRun (6.3 percent) achieved the highest price gains of the week, Meyer Burger (11.4 percent), Green Energy (10.4 percent) and SMA (9.4 percent) suffered the highest price losses.
The highest price gains since the beginning of the year are currently recorded by SunRun (121.5 percent), Solaria Energía (75.5 percent) and Vivint Solar (42.2 percent), while the highest losses are recorded by Panda Green Energy (69.4 percent), Motech (65.7 percent) and Meyer Burger (63.4 percent). The current cumulative market value of all PPVX companies is around €22.9 billion ($25.9 billion).
Since the beginning of the year, the PPVX has lost 19.2 percent and is thus (adjusted for currency effects) 25.0 percentage points behind the NYSE Arca Oil (plus 5.8 percent). Since the beginning of 2003, however, the PPVX (plus 243.3 percent) has a lead of 65.0 percentage points over the oil share index (plus 178.3 percent). For the index calculation, the weighting factor for West Holdings Corp. was increased from 2 to 3.
