PPVX up again

After the PHOTON Photovoltaic Stock Index PPVX lost a little of its gains achieved this year in the first two weeks of August, the index rose again last week. At 1,346 points on Friday, it was 1.1 percent higher than one week before. Since the beginning of the year, the PPVX has gained 49.8 percent and thus is 45.7 percentage points ahead of its reference value NYSE Arca Oil, which lost 1.8 percent last week and is now only 0.7 percent higher than on 1 January.
The highest price gains of last week were achieved by Xinyi Solar (19.3 percent), Daqo New Energy (11.4 percent) and REC Silicon (7.5 percent), while the highest losses were recorded by Sunnova (21.6 percent), Sunrun (4.7 percent) and Thai Solar Energy (4.5 percent). Enphase posted the highest price gains since the beginning of the year, with the company exceeding the 600 percent threshold last week (606.1 percent). In second and third place are Sunpower (156.1 percent) and Solaredge (130.5 percent). The highest price losses since the beginning of the year are currently posted by Shunfeng International (69.6 percent), Panda Green Energy (43.8 percent) and Meyer Burger (35.8 percent).
In a long-term comparison since 2003, the PPVX with a plus of 378.4 percent is 238.8 percentage points ahead of the NYSE Arca Oil (plus 139.6 percent). The cumulative market value of all PPVX companies is currently around €37.6 billion ($41.7 billion).
