PPVX up 3.6 percent

The PHOTON Photovoltaic Stock Index PPVX rose last week by 3.6 percent to 4,391 points. Its reference value NYSE Arca Oil lost 0.8 percent. At plus 7.9 percent year-to-date, the PPVX trails the oil stock index (plus 60.0 percent) by 52.0 percentage points.
SMA (up 21.6 percent), Array Technologies (18.2 percent) and Daqo New Energy (10.0 percent) posted the week’s highest price gains, while the biggest losses were suffered by Grenergy (6.5 percent), United Renewable Energy (5.9 percent) and Renew Energy (5.6 percent). The top 3 stocks year-to-date are GCL-Poly (up 141.5 percent), Enphase (43.4 percent) and Meyer Burger (34.4 percent). The highest price losses from January levels are currently recorded by Scatec (51.3 percent), Neoen (41.0 percent) and Azure Power (40.0 percent).
The cumulative market value of all PPVX companies is currently about €155.7 billion ($178.5 billion). The weighting factors used to calculate the index were increased from 4 to 5 (for companies with €3.2 billion to €12.8 billion in market value) for Sino-American Silicon and Sunnova last week. In a long-term comparison since the beginning of 2003, the PPVX (up 1,461 percent) has a lead of 1,318 percentage points over the NYSE Arca Oil (up 143 percent).
