PPVX up 2.8 percent

After suffering a loss in the week before last, the PHOTON Photovoltaic Stock Index PPVX rose again by 2.8 percent and listed at 1,099 points on Friday. Its reference value NYSE Arca Oil gained 3.7 percent. With a gain of 22.3 percent since the beginning of this year, the PPVX is thus 8.6 percentage points ahead of the oil share index (plus 13.7 percent). Since the beginning of 2003, the solar shares (plus 290.5 percent) have a lead of 119.8 percentage points over the Arca Oil (plus 170.7 percent). The cumulative market value of all PPVX companies is currently around €27.9 billion ($31.6 billion).
Last week's top 3 PPVX stocks were Jinko Solar (plus 15.3 percent), United Renewable Energy (9.9 percent) and Enphase (7.0 percent), while the highest price losse were suffered by Thai Solar Energy (3.2 percent), Panda Green Energy (2.7 percent) and SPCG (2.1 percent). The highest price gains since the beginning of the year are posted by Jinko Solar (94.3 percent), Enphase (91.3 percent) and Canadian Solar (62.4 percent), the highest price losses by Panda Green Energy (25.0 percent), West Holdings (9.5 percent) and 7C Solarparken (0.7 percent).
