PPVX up 2.4 percent

The PHOTON Photovoltaic Stock Index PPVX rose again last week and stood at 1,416 points on Friday, 2.4 percent higher than a week before. Its reference value NYSE Arca Oil remained unchanged. With a gain of 57.7 percent since the beginning of this year, the PPVX is 49.3 percentage points ahead of the oil share index (plus 8.4 percent).
The highest price gains of last week were achieved by Canadian Solar (10.7 percent), Neoen and GCL-Poly (both 7.7 percent). The highest losses were suffered by Shunfeng International (7.1 percent), Panda Green Energy (5.3 percent) and Terraform Power (3.8 percent). The highest growth rates since the beginning of the year are currently recorded by Enphase (420.5 percent), SolarEdge (156.9 percent) and Jinko Solar (119.3 percent). Most clearly in the red are the shares of Shunfeng International (75.0 percent), Panda Green Energy (62.5 percent) and GCL-Poly (40.4 percent).
The weighting factor for the PPVX calculation for 7C Solarparken was increased last week from 2 to 3 (for companies with a market value between €200 and €800 million; $222 to $889 million). The cumulative market value of all PPVX companies is currently around €40.1 billion ($44.6 billion). Since 2003, the PPVX (plus 403.5 percent) has been 245.5 percentage points ahead of NYSE Arca Oil (plus 158.0 percent).
