PPVX up 1.6 percent

The PHOTON Photovoltaic Stock Index PPVX gained 1.6 percent to 1,223 points last week, its reference value NYSE Arca Oil lost 0.4 percent.
The top-performers of the week were Sino-American Silicon (plus 10.2 percent), SMA (plus 9.9 percent) and Daqo New Energy (plus 7.3 percent), while GCL Poly (minus 10.2 percent), Meyer Burger (minus 6.7 percent) and Panda Green Energy (minus 6.5 percent) suffered the most significant price losses. Enphase (plus 266.4 percent), Jinko Solar (plus 149.0 percent) and Daqo New Energy (plus 94.4 percent) recorded the highest price gains since the beginning of the year. Shunfeng International (minus 44.2 per cent), Panda Green Energy (minus 39.6 per cent) and Meyer Burger (minus 6.7 per cent) recorded the highest price losses.
The current market value of all PPVX companies amounts to around €32.4 billion ($36.6 billion). With plus 36.1 percent since the beginning of the year, the PPVX has been 30.7 percentage points ahead of the NYSE Arca Oil (plus 5.4 percent). Since the beginning of 2003, the solar shares (plus 334.8 percent) have been 183.8 percentage points ahead of the oil share index (plus 151.0 percent).
