Austria-based Enerox GmbH, which manufactures vanadium redox flow batteries (VRFB) under the CellCube brand name, has signed a cooperation agreement with Australian storage power plant operator North Harbour Clean Energy PTY Ltd (NHCE).
According to Enerox, the two companies will initially collaborate on the project for a VRFB system with a capacity of four megawatts (MW) and 16 megawatt hours (MWh) of storage capacity. Furthermore, they plan to jointly conduct a feasibility study for the construction of a VRFB production facility in Australia.
According to the report, the CellCube/NHCE collaboration aims to create a 50 percent-owned joint venture that will build a factory with an annual production capacity initially of »at least 40 MW/160 MWh,« to be expanded to 100 MW/8,000 MWh.
