Danish renewable energy company Ørsted has acquired German wind and solar project developer Ostwind GmbH for an undisclosed price. The company, which has 115 employees at nine locations in Germany and France, has completed wind power projects with a total capacity of around one gigawatt (GW) in its 25-year history and has also been active in the project planning of solar power plants since 2020. Of this, approximately 88 megawatts are photovoltaic projects.
With the transaction, Ørsted has expanded its portfolio of wind and solar assets in operation or under construction in the U.S. and Europe to 4.8 GW. The company believes it is »on track« to its goal of 17.5 GW by 2030.
