OpenEMS platform invites to open online conference

The OpenEMS Association e.V. invites to an open online conference on November 16, following its annual general meeting. The four-hour program (1 to 5 p.m. CET) includes presentations and application examples in German and English. OpenEMS (Open Source Energy Management System) is an open software development environment for linking and controlling technical systems in the heat, electricity and e-mobility sectors, such as battery storage, charging stations or heat pumps. In addition to the actual program, the event is intended to offer participants the opportunity to »network and share experiences and ideas with others.«
OpenEMS was created in 2018 at the initiative of German storage system manufacturer Fenecon and is committed to »creating an open, future-proof development environment for a democratically distributed energy transition.« Specifically, it is about a manufacturer-independent standard for the interaction of hardware and software components. Members include a number of companies and institutes from the solar industry, including the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE, IBC Solar, Kaco, Heinrich Kopp GmbH, Refu, Varta Storage and the Center for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research Baden-Württemberg (ZSW).
