O&L Nexentury to build Germany’s largest FPV plant

On the »Philippsee«, the gravel lake of Philipp & Co.KG in the German municipality of Bad Schönborn, Munich-based O&L Nexentury GmbH – a company of Namibia-headquartered Ohlthaver & List Group – is building what it claims is Germany’s largest floating photovoltaic (FPV) plant. With 15 megawatts of capacity the plant covers eight hectares, around 15 percent of the water surface in the gravel pit.
Construction is scheduled to start in the third quarter and commissioning at the end of this year. The electricity yield, estimated at 16 gigawatt hours per year, is to be used both for the gravel plant's own consumption and for feeding into the grid.
