Dutch energy company Nuon plans to install a PV system on the Amsterdam ArenA, a soccer stadium in Amsterdam, Netherlands. According to the company, the PV system will consist of 4,200 solar modules from an unnamed producer mounted on a surface area measuring 7,000 square meters. Nuon will install the system in cooperation with Dutch companies BAM, Arkadis and Oskomera. The PV system will be installed during the first half of this year and will cover around 10% of the facility’s energy consumption. Nuon claims that the PV system will be the third largest solar system installed on a European stadium – PV systems installed on the Stade de Suisses in Berne, Switzerland and on the Stadio Bentegodi in Verona, Italy will still be larger.
